Evaluation is an important part of any project design.  It is the way you know whether and how your project has achieved it’s goals. A good evaluation begins before the project, by identifying your goals and objectives and identifying the types of information you will need to collect to know whether you have been successful.  This tool provides an overview and introduction to evaluation including the reasons why one evaluates, different types of evaluation one might carry out, types of data and data collection, and basic terminology.
